The attention to detail is awesome! It looks 3-dimensional because of the highlights and shadows, and with those, it allows you to use natural or artificial light (artificial light shown in photograph) and have the background look like it has depth. Just make sure you position it the right direction in relation to the light source. ;) There's even a couple spots where the tiles are intentionally slightly off centered, and that gives the background a realistic/natural feel. 10/10 recommend!

So grateful for Replica Surfaces! I finally ordered after debating for two years, but they're so worth it. I have so much clutter in my house so there aren't many clean surfaces to take product photos on. These are so helpful and I love that I can move the setup to wherever the best natural lighting is. My only complaint is that the connector pieces are a bit difficult to use – it's sort of hard to get the pieces into the grooves.

I love this pattern. My brother legit argued with me for 10 minutes that it wasn’t real tile. It’s pleasing to look at and has enough detail to look interesting and not like somethings hanging on a flat, painted wall.

I’ll admit, it took me a while to use my surfaces. Taking photos of everything is something I put off due to space in my painting area… it’s always so time consuming to clean up my painting supplies, setup, edit and take down. Around the same time I purchased my set of surfaces I had also purchased a lightbox and started to take the next round of photos using that. It worked great for some of my smaller items like magnets, but with the paintings there was too much of a glare from the lights being so close causing ugly glares in the pictures that I couldn’t edit out, we’re distracting in the photos and it wasn’t large enough fit some of paintings. This time around I decided to work with the surfaces and the lightning and the quality of pictures was incredible at first shot! I was able to hang paintings on the upright panel (Subway Tile) to showcase the items hanging and the bottom panel (Cement) was perfect to showcase flat items. Even when I was photographing heavier paintings where I couldn’t hang them, the contrast in the background looked realistic, professional and made the colors of the paintings pop. The patterns look so real in photos and hardly needed any editing, only minor adjustments to like light settings. I’ve just purchased a darker background and White to help direct light better and I can’t wait to use them.

I'm so glad I decided to bite the bullet on purchasing Replica Surfaces. I've been using my own mock-up surfaces, that while they did the job, wasn't as good. I'd have to keep replacing them because they got dirty, couldn't be cleaned, and would bend or tear after a while. These are not only durable, but I have no fear spilling my drinks, food etc, because they can be cleaned easily and I don't need a dedicated space to set up because their footprint is so small. I keep them stored flat against each other against an empty wall (until I can purchase the storage bag), but what a difference they make to product photos. I haven't done food as yet, but I can't wait! Now I'm just waiting to see if they'll re-release a few more that I missed out on, and would be great if they added bigger sizes as well for larger products or even portraits. I'm all in!

The boards are flimsier and tackier looking in person than I thought they would be, but what is so funny is that you really can't tell in photos!
